I'm a graphic designer at Dae Hair, a design professor at Chapman University, and someone who genuinely can't help but turn everything into a design project.

For over 10 years, I've been a professional designer—building brand identities, teaching design principles, and obsessing over every detail from typography to color palettes. But here's what makes Thomfoolery different: this is where I design purely for the joy of it.

I'm a designer who designs for the joy of it—and I'm showing you how design thinking transforms ordinary moments into something special, whether that's a Tuesday dinner party, a thrifted blazer, or a homemade birthday invitation.

THOMFOOLERY

[TOM-FOO-LUH-REE] // NOUN: FOOLISH OR SILLY BEHAVIOUR

The name says it all. This isn't about client deadlines or design briefs—it's about creative play, passion projects, and making things beautiful just because we can.

my approach

A smiling woman with dark wavy hair sitting on an orange velvet upholstered chair, holding a book, wearing a white embroidered blouse and pink pants, against a plain white wall.

I'm only serious about two things: Good antiques and good design.

In the words of Elsie de Wolfe, self-proclaimed rebel in an ugly world (amen, sister), "I am going to make everything around me beautiful—that will be my life." And it has been my life.

Whether I'm styling a tablescape, hunting for vintage treasures, designing invitations, or sharing a DIY tutorial—I believe that thoughtful design can (and should) infuse every corner of our lives. Not in a precious, untouchable way, but in a way that makes everyday moments feel a little more special.

I love mixing styles—modern with vintage, bold with delicate, polished with playful. I'm drawn to things with soul and history, and I'm always experimenting with new techniques and materials just to see what happens.

While Thomfoolery is now my creative playground, I believe in the power of creative collaboration. Alongside my full-time role at Dae, I take on a limited number of select client projects and partnerships.
